These sensors stop or reverse the door when something blocks them. Even a small change in their position, wiring, or alignment can cause unexpected behavior after the new opener is installed.

How Safety Sensors Work

Garage door safety sensors sit a few inches above the floor on both sides of the opening. One sensor sends an invisible beam, while the other receives it.
